ST. LOUIS — A former patient is suing a licensed counselor, citing alleged assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The patient filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Jacob Resch, alleging he breached the standards of care for a counselor. Jacob Resch was a health care worker at Alsana aka Castlewood Treatment Center in St. Louis.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of the defendant's conduct, she suffered damages, including but not limited to severe emotional distress and physical pain. The plaintiff holds Resch responsible because despite knowing that she is susceptible to sexual advances, the defendant allegedly induced her to have a sexual relationship with him.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $25,000, plus punitive damages, litigation costs, and all other relief to which she may show herself just and proper. She is represented by Jeffrey J. Lowe of Carey Danis & Lowe in St. Louis.
