Castlewood Treatment Center Under Pressure From Former Clients

Castlewood Treatment Center and Social Media Pressure

After a few quiet years, a fair amount of people are speaking out against Castlewood again. Former patients are contacting us looking for support after discovering our little web site (www.castlewoodvictimsunite.org). Today, another 1 star review joined several others on Castlewood's Facebook page.

This kind of pressure on social media really does work. I am certain that Schwartz and Galperin were forced out of Castlewood because of the internet news coverage and related social networking about the infamous malpractice lawsuits. Since being ousted from the facility they co-founded a decade earlier we haven't heard much from the disgraced couple. Recently they have started up again, this time in Monterey, CA. The notorious pair promoting their services in everything from marriage therapy and couples retreats, to substance abuse counseling and, of course, their shameful treatment for eating disorders.

We need to warn the unsuspecting public about Castlewood's sordid history and dangerous therapists like Schwartz and Galperin. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Google+, Youtube, Linkedin - take your pick and make a habit of sharing a tidbit of your knowledge and experiences with risky mental health workers and the methods they inflict upon vulnerable patients.

Occasionally the topic does come up in the mainstream media, however it is often treated as if recovered memory therapy was a fad from long ago that does not happen anymore. It is up to us to inform everyone that the problem is still very much alive. The offenders of yesteryear simply re-branded the discredited multiple personality diagnosis to dissociative identity disorder (D.I.D.) Hypnosis is now called guided image therapy. Internal Family Systems is more palatable than parts therapy or regression therapy, and so forth.

You don't have to be an expert in the field to make a difference, you just have to post, share and network, and then post again. Lather, rinse, repeat. So, have you posted or shared something useful for our cause today?
